Abeer A. Alamri, Ph.D.
Measurement and Evaluation
Psychometrician and Evaluator
I am from Saudi Arabia, earned a Ph.D. in Measurement and Evaluation from the University of South Florida (USF) where I obtained my master's degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation as well as a Graduate Certificate in Evaluation. My background in math helped me to accomplish my educational goals. My interests include measurement, evaluation, statistics, and quantitative research.
I am Senior Measurement Specialist in the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, Riyadh. Earlier in my career, I worked as a math teacher and as an evaluator. These work experiences gave me the honor to receive two full scholarships to study in the United States.
I believe that psychometric is theoretical and applied field and that research conducted must be used by policy makers and practitioners as they strive to craft and implement improved policies and practices. Therefore, I have drafted an active research agenda while I am in graduate school.
I have a strong skillset in quantitative, SEM, IRT, and HLM frameworks research method. As such, I am well versed in conducting a literature review, using software to support quantitative data analysis, including Mplus, SAS, SPSS, and HLM. I also have expertise in scale development (validity and reliability), data (single-multilevel continues- category), items analysis, and international large-scale testing. Structure equation models (SEM), Bayesian SEM, and simulation research are also interests of mine. Moreover, I attended several training sessions conducting by experts such as the Test Equating Methods and Practices (NCME 2016), Computerized Multistage Adaptive Testing (NCME 2017), and Online Assessments (NCME 2017). I presented some of my work on regional (e.g., FERA), national and international conferences (e.g., NCME 2017-2028-2029, AERA 2018-2019, Innovation Arabia 10 and 11). I am also a member of honor, (e.g., Phi Kappa Phi, Golden Key), international, (e.g., AREA, AEA, NCME), and local organizations, (e.g., FERA).
I identify myself as an educator who believes that good education is a civil right, and I dedicated my life career to this notion. I believe that I have a big dream to accomplish and am almost there. My ultimate goal is not only a career or a position; rather it exceeds that for leading a psychometric initiative to develop a personalized assessment system.
Outside of the academic and professional pursuits, I am a mother, traveler, and music enthusiast.
